Barbara Yurick will offer “Children For Children”, an integrated arts program designed for elementary age students which has been presented in school residencies throughout the state.
”Children For Children” integrates children’s literature, creative movement and dance, visual arts and music. The program is centered around “The Relatives Came” a wonderful story by West Virginia author Cynthia Rylant. There is a strong reading comprehension component. Students have fun while learning in this unique educational experience.
Students will have creative movement class and bring the story to life. They will create several hands on projects which relate to the story and they will learn about the Traditional Appalachian instrumentation which is in the music we use for the story.
1 1/2 hour classes each day Mon., Tues., Wed., Thurs.
Friday will be 1 hour class and the last half hour will be the final presentation where students will bring the story to life for their audience.
PLEASE NOTE: Class Time will be determined according to enrollment.
All supplies are included with fee of $60 per student
